Data Freshness & Update Schedule
Understand when our data was last updated and why some metrics may be older than others.
Update Schedule by Data Type
✓ Updated Daily
We re-measure all sites daily via Google PageSpeed Insights API. New measurements available by noon UTC the following day.
✓ Updated Daily
Aggregates are recomputed daily from updated measurements. Available within 2 hours of new data.
✓ Updated Daily
National benchmarks recomputed daily from all city-level data.
⚠ Updated Weekly
New businesses added weekly via directory sync. Affects which cities have "sufficient data" for benchmarking.
Why Data Ages Vary
Different measurement schedules
Core Web Vitals are re-measured daily, but not all sites return data every day. If a domain is unavailable or API throttles, it may skip a measurement cycle.
Fallback metrics during gaps
If measurement fails for 7+ days, we use the last available estimate. These are clearly marked as "Estimated" on the site.
Geographic data density
Small cities with few businesses may have older data. National benchmarks use the oldest city's timestamp as the "last updated" value.
Transparency: When you see "Last estimated: 45 days ago", it means that's the oldest data in our national aggregate. This indicator helps you decide whether the benchmark is fresh enough for your needs.
